COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s defensive tackle Haskell Garrett spoke for the first time since suffering a gunshot wound to give an update on his health status. He was released from Wexner Medical Center on Monday after suffering what police described as a “through and through gunshot wound to the cheeks.” According to the Columbus Police report, Garrett suffered the gunshot wound after breaking up a fight between a man and woman on Chittenden Ave. and Grant Ave. He stated that the man turned towards him, pulled out a handgun and fired. He then ran south on Grant Ave. towards a friend’s apartment. Police have not yet identified a suspect in the shooting. Garrett came to Ohio State as a four-star recruit from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas as a member of the 2017 recruiting class.
