During the Sunday afternoon game on ESPN against Pickerington (Ohio) Central, Pickerington (Ohio) North was without its best player as it competed without Jack Sawyer. The five-star defensive end, who also played tight end for Pickerington North, opted out of his senior season in 2020 with an eye on early enrollment at Ohio State — which, with the Big Ten, is set to play a spring schedule. Midway through the second quarter, Sawyer shared several updates to his Buckeyes preparation in phone interview with ESPN. “Yeah, so I’m working out five times a week, doing a lot of cardio, too, trying to stay in shape for a football season,” Sawyer said. “Now waking up, strictly eating five, six meals a day.
