The college football watch list season for 2020 is in the books. Over the last nearly two weeks, 14 watch lists for various individual college football awards were released. Thirteen Ohio State players saw their names on 12 of those watch lists. This should come as no shock. The Buckeyes have one of the most talented teams in the country heading into the 2020 season and their players undoubtedly should be candidates for the top awards. Now let’s be clear, watch list season is generally meaningless. Just because a player’s name appears on a watch list does not mean he is a candidate for the award, just that he could be. Those decisions will be made once games are actually played and players perform on the field.
