Michigan State’s attempt to prepare for a 2020 college football season that’s in serious jeopardy due to the coronavirus pandemic just took a major blow. The university on Friday afternoon announced all members of the football team will quarantine or isolate for 14 days after a second staff member and a player tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. Friday’s announcement followed a decision announced Wednesday that the program was halting all workouts after a staff member tested positive. “As part of the athletic department’s return to campus policy, student-athletes quarantine when coming into close contact with an individual who tests positive for COVID-19,” Michigan State said via a press release on Friday. “The university has designated areas available to house individuals in quarantine as needed based upon the living arrangements for student-athletes.
