Ohio State men’s basketball received some big news on Wednesday afternoon when four-star Akron’s St. Vincent-St. Mary shooting guard Malaki Branham announced his commitment to the Buckeyes. But it was a big day for Scarlet and Gray recruiting across both football and basketball. With Branham’s commitment, Chris Holtmann’s Ohio State men’s basketball 2021 class jumped up to No. 2 in the country in the 247Sports Composite team recruiting rankings and No. 1 in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes trail only Baylor in the national rankings with 60.53 recruiting points, 2.58 points behind the Bears. Just across the parking lot from Value City Arena is the Woody Hayes Athletic Center where Ryan Day’s office is located. Day and the Scarlet and Gray football team currently have the country’s best recruiting class, sitting on 305.47 recruiting points, 36.15 points above second-place Alabama.
