Multiple Buckeyes named to Outland Trophy watch list

Ohio State offensive linemen Wyatt Davis, Josh Myers and Thayer Munford have been named to the 2020 Outland Trophy watch list. The award — now in its 75h year — is given annually to the top interior lineman in college football. (So, all offensive linemen and defensive tackles are eligible. Defensive ends are not.) Ohio State has been represented well over the many years the Outland Trophy has been around. The first OSU player to win the award was Jim Parker in 1956. Next up was Jim Stillwagon in 1970. Just three seasons later, in 1973, John Hicks captured the award. The most-recent Buckeye to win the award … was not very recently. It was Orlando Pace in 1996 (who somehow won the Lombardi Award twice at the Outland “only” once, which is still one of the great mysteries of life).
