Ohio State's Dillon Dingler taken in 2nd round of 2020 MLB Draft

Ohio State junior catcher Dillon Dingler was selected in the second round of the 2020 Major League Baseball Draft (No. 38 overall) by the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. During his career with the Buckeyes (2018-20), Dingler batted .276, had an on-base percentage of .367, slugged 12 home runs, had 50 RBIs and posted an OPS of .809.  Dingler was a second-team All-Big Ten pick for Ohio State in 2019 as a sophomore. He was also named to the Big Ten’s All-Freshman Team in 2018. The 2020 college baseball season was haulted after just three weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
