With each passing day, Ohio State’s case for being the preseason No. 1 team in college football is gaining more steam. Lindy’s Sports, via its preview magazine that is arriving on newsstands, added to that chorus by installing Ohio State at No. 1 in its preseason poll. That follows the news that 247Sports.com had installed the Buckeyes as their No. 1 team. At the same time, however, two other respected magazines had other opinions. Street & Smith’s went with Clemson No. 1, Ohio State second and Alabama third. Athlon Sports went with Clemson No. 1, followed by Alabama second and Ohio State third. In the Ohio regional covers, Street & Smith’s and Athlon Sports had OSU quarterback Justin Fields wearing a scarlet jersey.
