Ohio State football defensive tackles need a breakthrough in 2020: Buckeye Take


COLUMBUS, Ohio — How far down the list of the major departures from Ohio State football’s 2019 defense do you count before you name a defensive tackle? Surely defensive end Chase Young goes No. 1 on the list. First-round draft pick cornerbacks Jeff Okudah and Damon Arnette probably come out next. Many would probably round out their top five with linebacker Malik Harrison and safety Jordan Fuller. As the Buckeyes reconvened for voluntary workouts on Monday, they resumed the process of replacing an entire unit considered the Big Ten’s best in 2019 by one respected source. According to Pro Football Focus, the three highest-graded defensive tackles in the Big Ten in 2019 all played for Ohio State.
