Lenzelle Smith Jr. joins Ohio State basketball’s Carmen’s Crew alumni team for TBT Tournament


COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State basketball alumni team “Carmen’s Crew” has added another player from the Thad Matta era in Lenzelle Smith Jr. Smith Jr. was apart of the Buckeyes’ 2010 recruiting class that featured six players as the No. 3 class in the country and No. 1 in the Big Ten. He and Aaron Craft — who is also on the team — were the only two players to spend all four years in an OSU jersey. The former three-star recruit was a three-year starter for the Buckeyes seeing action in 131 games averaging 7.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists. His best season came during his senior season when he averaged 11 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while helping the Buckeyes to a 25-10 record — 10-8 in the Big Ten — before losing in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
