CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ohio State is competing with Big Ten foe Penn State for one of the top 2022 running backs in the country. Nicholas Singleton is a four-star recruit from Governor Mifflin high school in Shillington, Pa. A native of Reading, Singleton is the No. 8 running back in the nation and No. 4 prospect in his home state, per 247Sports. With his 5-foot-11 and 195-pound frame, Singleton has the potential to be the big, explosive back who’s been the mold for the Buckeyes the past few years. Reading is about two and a half hours from Penn State, and Singleton has been there multiple times for camps. For now, the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions are his top two choices. “They both reach out a lot, the coaches really care about me, and I really like the coaches,” Singleton said of the two programs.
