CLOSE As Wyatt Davis emerged as an All-America right guard last year in his first full season as an Ohio State starter, his grandfather was too ill to travel to see him play. But Davis knew that his grandfather, Pro Football Hall of Famer Willie Davis, watched his games. “His wife, Carol, would always send me a video of him after the game saying congratulations for some of our wins this year, and even at the end of the season of him saying how proud he was of me,” Davis said from his home in California during a conference call with reporters last week. “It was awesome.
