EUGENE — Rob Mullens and Gene Smith have spoken recently, but changing the home-and-home series between Oregon and Ohio State was not discussed — at least not yet. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine appears much more keen on football being played in his state in 2020 compared to Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, who said last week that large gatherings in the state will likely need to be canceled or “significantly modified” through at least September and later laughed about at a question about fans attending high school and college football games. It’s naturally raised the question about possibly flipping the sites of the series between the Ducks and Buckeyes, who are scheduled to come to Autzen Stadium Sept. 12, to give the games a better chance of being played.
