He saved Ohio State football when the Buckeyes needed saving, then missed out on playing during a national title season because he sacrificed his body for the team. He won the Big Ten’s MVP Award, the Silver Football, as a quarterback twice, then tried to make it in the NFL as a receiver. Braxton Miller has made $1.8 million in an NFL career that included two years on an active roster with the Houston Texans and two more years bouncing through practice squads and trying to make rosters with three other teams. He left oodles of money on the table in Columbus because when Miller played college football between 2011 and 2015, athletes couldn’t make outside money from endorsements.
