Ohio State football ‘fired up’ to add Oklahoma grad transfer running back Trey Sermon

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Trey Sermon’s transfer into the Ohio State football program answers the most immediate need in the Buckeyes’ running back — another body. Ohio State coach Ryan Day thinks the grad transfer from Oklahoma, a former honorable mention All-Big 12 selection, can provide much more. The Buckeyes saw Sermon up close when the Sooners came to Ohio Stadium in 2017, and he added more film to his resume as a sophomore and junior. “He’s big, strong and powerful,” Day said. “He has good feet in the hole. He breaks tackles. He runs routes out of the backfield. He can max protect. “He’s very intelligent, from talking to him and understanding his football IQ.
