Ohio State football commit Reid Carrico invited to All-American Bowl: Buckeye Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football is accustomed to being represented on a national stage by its top recruits. An in-state prospect will lead that effort in 2021. Ironton linebacker Reid Carrico earned an invitation to the All-American Bowl on Jan. 9. He joined Philadelphia St. Joseph’s quarterback Kyle McCord and Bellaire (Texas) Episcopal offensive lineman Donovan Jackson as 2021 Buckeye commits invited to participate. Carrico was Ohio’s Division V Defensive Player of the Year after leading Ironton to the state championship game. As a junior he collected 168 tackles (18 for loss) with three sacks, one interception and four forced fumbles. Carrico is the No. 2 inside linebacker prospect in the 247 Sports national composite for the 2021 class, and the No. 74 prospect overall.
