COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football, a program known for turning out NFL defensive backs, made another short list for the top-ranked cornerback recruit in the 2021 class. Virginia Beach (Virginia) Princess Anne’s Tony Grimes put the Buckeyes on the top eight he released Wednesday night on Twitter. Grimes also included Clemson, Georgia, North Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Virginia. The 6-0, 180-pound Grimes is ranked No. 7 overall in the 247 Sports national composite. Ohio State is one of four programs with a “warm” designation among Grimes’ suitors, along with Georgia, North Carolina and Texas A&M. The Bulldogs currently have four of six crystal ball predictions, with none for OSU.
