COLUMBUS, Ohio — In the closest second-round voting so far, No. 4 seed Chris Gamble beat No. 5 seed Malcolm Jenkins in the Jim Tressel Defense Region of our Favorite Modern Football Buckeye bracket. Our bracket started with 68 players and nearly is down to the Sweet Sixteeen. In the search for the favorite OSU football player since 2001, there were four regions created: defensive players under Jim Tressel and Luke Fickell from 2001 to 2011, offensive players under those two coaches, then defensive players under Urban Meyer and Ryan Day from 2012 to 2019, and offensive players under those coaches.
