COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has, as of late March, accumulated the top-ranked collection of players in the 2021 recruiting class. According to MaxPreps, the Buckeyes did so by locking down the top player in at least three states — with more such additions potentially to follow. Missouri cornerback Jakailin Johnson, Ohio defensive end Jack Sawyer and Pennsylvania quarterback Kyle McCord were all recognized as their state’s top player. All three are among the 14 commitments thus far in OSU’s 2021 class. Johnson recorded six interceptions for St. Louis DeSmet’s state championship team last fall.
