Projecting Ohio State basketball’s 2020-21 roster: Kyle Young returns as potentially the Buckeyes’ only veteran post player


COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State basketball team’s offense has flowed through a skilled post player for the past two seasons who was just as much of a threat as a three-point shooter as he was in the post. The assumption is that Kaleb Wesson won’t be back for his senior season and will instead declare for the NBA Draft. Should that be the case, he will leave as the 59th player in OSU history to reach 1,000 points in his career with averages of 12.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.8 blocks while starting in 92 of 96 games. His expected departure — combined with personnel at other positions — could lead to a change in offensive approach than what the Buckeyes and most of the Big Ten have grown accustomed to playing.
