NASHVILLE — If the Tennessee Titans end up drafting former Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins in April, it could trace back to coach Mike Vrabel’s Monday morning phone call. The former Buckeye player and assistant coach made a call to Titans fan and Ohio State alum Ron Kegarise. The 87-year-old is currently alone in quarantine during the coronavirus precautions. Kegarise, 87, met his late wife, Ann, at Ohio State. A Columbus native, Ann Kegarise died last September after 62 years of marriage to Ron. Her obituary said she attended 24 NCAA Final Fours and the Rose Bowl among the couple’s sports travels. The entire call is included in the Tweet above. Vrabel and Ron Kegarise spoke for about five minutes. They discussed Kegarise’s hometown of Canton, and how he played on the playground where they eventually built the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
