Day, who is heading into his second season as the Buckeyes’ head coach, has been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness. This past summer, his family launched the Christina and Ryan Day Fund for Pediatric and Adolescent Mental Wellness at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. As part of that announcement, Day said publicly for the first time that his dad died by suicide in 1988.
