Ohio State Lands Oklahoma Transfer RB Trey Sermon and Big Ten Should Be Terrified

While a perennial College Football Playoff team in Oklahoma is losing one of their top running backs, another is gaining a deadly new weapon on offense. © Brett Deering/Getty Images Oklahoma RB Trey Sermon Former Oklahoma running back Trey Sermon announced that he will play for Ryan Day at Ohio State during his final college football season. Sermon’s 2019 season was cut short by injuries that limited him to just 54 carries, but his two prior seasons are more indicative of the type of runner he is. Over the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Sermon ran for 1,691 yards while finding the end zone 18 times on the ground. Sermon, known for his speed and quick cuts at the line of scrimmage, is expected to split carries with Buckeyes running back Master Teague III, who piled up 789 yards rushing as the backup to JK Dobbins last season.
