NEW ORLEANS — The collection of former Ohio State football defensive backs in the New Orleans Saints defense will continue through at least 2021. ESPN’s Field Yates reported Thursday night that the Saints have picked up the fifth-year option on cornerback Marshon Lattimore. The former Buckeye enters his fourth year in 2020 — all spent with the Saints. Lattimore will team with former OSU safety Malcolm Jenkins, who is returning to the Saints, where he started his career. Another former Buckeye who has played with the Saints, Vonn Bell, is currently a free agent. A third, Eli Apple, signed a free agent contract with the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this week. According to the terms of the NFL’s new Collective Bargaining Agreement, fifth-year options for former first-round picks become fully guaranteed when picked up.
