COLUMBUS, Ohio — In the current era of Ohio State football, few traits are more valuable for defensive backs than versatility. The Buckeyes currently start three cornerbacks, including one with somewhat specialized responsibilities in the slot. While they start only one safety, they need the flexibility to use a second deep man when matchups or strategy demand. In addition to being a four-star prospect, Andre Turrentine — Ohio State’s third defensive back commitment in as many days — gives the Buckeyes options at the back end of the defense.
