Ohio State spring football and other athletics schedules not yet affected by coronavirus concerns


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State athletics officials are keeping an eye on coronavirus developments before making changes to schedules and policies. The university suspended classroom instruction and other academic gatherings through March 30, replacing them with distance learning options. An Ohio State athletics spokesperson said the department had nothing to add “add this time.” “We are continuing to monitor the situation with the understanding it evolves daily, and we are maintaining our current schedule,” the spokesperson said. Ohio State is currently on spring break, and the football team is not scheduled to resume practice until March 17. The Spring Game, which drew 60,000 people last year, is scheduled for April 11. Buckeyes mens basketball is scheduled to begin play in the Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis on Thursday.
