COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football program is making its way into Florida in a big way during the 2021 recruiting cycle. No state has more OSU offers than the Sunshine State’s 26, including the Buckeyes’ own back yard of Ohio, which has 10 offers and six commitments. And at the forefront of the Florida movement is IMG Academy. The prep school in Bradenton, Fla., has a reputation for producing five- and four-star recruits in a handful of sports, but it wasn’t until a commitment from Malik Barrow in 2016 that the Ohio State started to have success at the school. There have been 34 players to come through Columbus by way of Florida since 2000, and IMG is responsible for five.
