COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball closed out its season with an 80-69 loss to No. 16 Michigan State. The Spartans gained a share of the regular-season Big Ten Championship for the third-straight season. They’ll share it with No. 9 Maryland and No. 24 Wisconsin. With the loss — combined with No. 18 Iowa losing to No. 23 Illinois — the Buckeyes will clinch the No. 7 seed in the Big Ten Tournament. They’ll begin play on Thursday when they take on the 10-seed Purdue at 6:30 p.m on the Big Ten Network. The Buckeyes won the only regular-season matchup between the two at home in a 68-52 win getting their Big Ten record back to .500.
