Michigan hockey beats No. 11 Ohio State on late goal from captain Will Lockwood

ANN ARBOR — Michigan’s hockey team continues to make a run in the second half of the season. Senior captain Will Lockwood scored with 3 minutes, 43 seconds remaining, giving the Wolverines a 3-2 victory over No. 11 Ohio State on Friday at Yost Ice Arena. They are now 4-0-1 since Jan. 1 — all against ranked teams. The win moves Michigan (11-11-3, 5-7-2) back to .500 as it looks to climb in the Big Ten standings and the pairwise rankings — a system aimed to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine the participants in the 16-team tournament. It moved up two spots to No. 22 in the pairwise with the victory.
