Ohio State football’s search for a big-time running back: Meet 4-star prospect Lovasea Carroll


COLUMBUS, Ohio — After failing to land a high-level running back in the 2020 recruiting class, do so in 2021 has become a high priority. Running backs coach Tony Alford assured that the Buckeyes “will be fine” when it comes to recruiting that positon despite striking out of three of its top targets last year. Ohio State has to find a way to replace J.K. Dobbins who just had the best single-season a running back could have in Columbus without winning a Heisman Trophy. In 2020 that will be led by Master Teague and a handful of young guys who’ve don’t have real experience against first-string college football players. In 2021 that next great running back will need to come from its incoming freshman class.
