Ohio State football incoming freshman running back Miyan Williams recovering from thumb surgery


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State incoming football running back Miyan Williams said he underwent right thumb surgery — and sent out the photo to prove it. Williams, a true freshman from Cincinnati, tweeted “Surgery went well on my thumb” on Thursday. In the photo, taken when he was still in his hospital bed, Williams’ right thumb is heavily wrapped, and his right arm is in a sling. Williams is not due to arrive on campus until the summer. Ranked No. 46 among running backs in the 2020 class, Williams was a late addition to the Buckeyes’ signing class. The former Iowa State commit rushed for more than 5,000 career yards for Winton Woods High School, including 992 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. It is not known if this surgery will affect Williams in any way for the fall. He may be in line for a redshirt season regardless.…
