Ohio State football alum Nick Bosa named NFL Rookie of the Year


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Nick Bosa’s spectacular first season with the San Francisco 49ers continues to draw accolades, as the former Ohio State football star was named the NFL’s Pepsi Rookie of the Year. Bosa had earlier been named the Pro Football Writers of America Rookie of the Year. He collected 47 tackles (including a franchise-record 16 for loss), nine sacks, once forced fumble and one interception. On Sunday will play in Super Bowl LIV against the Kansas City Chiefs. Bosa beat out Tennessee Titans receiver A.J. Brown, Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders. Bosa’s brother Joey, also an OSU alum, was named the Associated Press and PFWA Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2016. The Sporting News and the AP have not yet announced their award winners.
