D.J. Carton’s absence will have an impact on Ohio State basketball’s effectiveness in transition


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball won’t have D.J. Carton when it faces Indiana for the second time on Saturday, and there is no timetable for when he’ll return. The Iowa native revealed that he’s struggled with mental health for a couple of years and that he didn’t feel at 100 percent. That’ s what Carton is dealing with off the court. On the court, he’s had his ups-and-downs as well, but that is expected from a freshman point guard playing against a much higher level of competition than anything he saw while at Bettendorf High School. As for how it affects the season going forward, Ohio State is down to just one player who serves as a primary ball-handler in C.J.
