Cameron Martinez opens up on why he's signing with Ohio State

Cameron Martinez worried Ohio State fans when he was the Buckeyes’ only commitment in the 2020 recruiting class not to ink his letter of intent during the Dec. 18-20 Early Signing Period, but he’s since ended any cause for concern. The four-star athlete from Muskegon (Mich.) High, who committed June 21 to Ohio State, is set to make his Buckeyes pledge official next Wednesday when National Signing Day arrives. The 5-foot-11, 183-pound Martinez is Michigan’s two-time Mr. Football Award winner after starring both ways — notably at quarterback — for Muskegon. As he takes his talents to Columbus, Martinez enters at safety after Ohio State coaches initially fought over him for offense vs. defense.
