COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s abundance of recent good fortune at running back plays a part in the consternation some fans feel about the position for 2020. The Buckeyes kept a five-star elite running back on its roster almost throughout the playoff era. Ezekiel Elliott carried OSU to the inaugural championship in 2014 before establishing himself as one of the NFL’s best. J.K. Dobbins came in behind him with a brilliant debut and left with an even better exit performance. Both came to Ohio State among the top-ranked recruits in their class per the 247 Sports national composite (Elliott No. 69, Dobbins No. 46).
