COLUMBUS, Ohio — If those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it, Ohio State assistant athletic director for football performance Mickey Marotti believes the opposite is also true. Marotti begins his ninth season with the Buckeyes this fall. At one time or another he has seen every position group face the question of whether or not it can reload. For 2020 the biggest question on defense comes in the secondary, where Ohio State loses sure first-round NFL Draft pick Jeffrey Okudah and two other future pros: cornerback Damon Arnette Jr. and safety Jordan Fuller. Coming in behind them, the Buckeyes can count on one returning starter — Shaun Wade. After that they must rely on breakthroughs from veteran reserves and true freshmen.
