Ohio State football’s 2021 recruiting class drops to No. 2 after Clemson surge: Buckeye Breakfast


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s 2021 commitment class went into the weekend with the No. 1 ranking in the 247 Sports national composite. After Clemson’s Junior Day yielded four big pledges over the weekend, however, the Tigers surged into the top spot. Through Saturday afternoon, California receiver Beaux Collins (No 34 overall, No. 3 position), Florida defensive end Cade Denhoff (No. 91/No. 7) and Tennessee tight end Jake Briningstool (No. 112/No. 2) brought the Tigers’ 2021 commitment list to eight. Ohio State’s nine-man class, however, still held the top spot. That changed when Clemson landed a commitment from 2021?s No. 1 prospect — California defensive end Korey Foreman. As with Collins and Denhoff, Foreman also held an Ohio State offer. Positionally, those commitments did not cripple the Buckeyes’ 2021 agenda.
