Ohio State basketball falls to Minnesota 62-59 for its second home loss of the season


COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the second time this season Ohio State basketball has lost a home game and for the sixth time a Big Ten game as it fell to Minnesota 62-59. The word toughness had been thrown around on numerous occasions during a Wednesday press conference to preview the game. The Buckeyes would get their first opportunity to show that against the Golden Gophers with the game tied at 59 with 38 seconds to play. Instead, Minnesota’s Marcus Carr — 21 points — knocked down a three leaving just 3.3 seconds on the clock and Ohio State with no timeouts. They’d take a play under review as an opportunity to draw up a potential game-tying shot, but they’d never get a chance to execute it after it was ruled Minnesota ball.
