COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ryan Day has hired Corey Dennis to replace Mike Yurcich as Ohio State football’s quarterback coach. When asked to explain why he chose someone with no previous experience as an assistant to lead the development of a room featuring a possible Heisman Trophy winner, Day’s answer came down to wanting continuity and familiarity. “Since I got here Corey’s kind of been my right-hand man,” Day said. “From when I got off the plane that first time we were kind of together, and we’ve spent a lot of time in that meeting room together.
