Ohio State football alum Nick Bosa named NFL Rookie of the Year by Pro Football Writers of America


SAN FRANCISCO — No NFL player hit the quarterback in 2019 as often as San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa. On Tuesday the former Ohio State football star was recognized by the Pro Football Writers of America as its Rookie of the Year. Bosa also earned Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, while Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs earned the offensive honor. Bosa was the first OSU alum named PFWA Rookie of the Year since Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott in 2016. Bosa led the NFL with 25 quarterback hits while collecting 47 tackles, nine sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
