Ohio State football fans live vicariously through LSU’s Joe Burrow: Crowquill


CLEVELAND, Ohio — While the Ohio State Buckeyes are relegated to watching it on TV on Monday, the College Football Playoff Championship game between No. 1 LSU and No. 3 Clemson will take place in New Orleans. Clemson is trying for back-to-back titles. It has won 29 games in a row and arguably has supplanted Alabama as the nation’s top college football program. Coach Dabo Swinney got his start as Clemson’s interim coach midway through 2008 and sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawrence is 26-0 as a starter. This is LSU’s first time in the CFP final four and it is a slight favorite to win the championship behind arguably the G.O.A.T. offense, which is led by former OSU QB Joe Burrow, the Athens High grad who became a college football favorite when his Heisman Trophy acceptance speech inspired a half-million dollars in donations to the Athens food pantry.
