A bit of controversy hit the Fiesta Bowl in a pivotal moment Saturday night. With Clemson leading 21-16 — a complete reversal after Ohio State jumped out to a 16-0 lead — the Buckeyes appeared to suddenly snatch the lead back with a scoop-and-score recovery. Ohio State defensive back Jeff Okudah, a first team All-Big Ten selection, knocked the ball away from Clemson wide receiver Justyn Ross on a bang-bang play in the third quarter. Referees on the field ruled that Ross had possession long enough to make the ball live, and Buckeyes DB Jordan Fuller pounced on it and returned it to the house for what would have been a 22-16 Ohio State lead, extra point pending. But after a lengthy review, referees determined that Ross did not in fact have possession long enough, and it was ruled an incomplete pass.
