Is Ohio State football coach Ryan Day set for a raise and extension? Buckeye Breakfast


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football coach Ryan Day’s official debut season has included Big Ten Coach of the Year honors, a third consecutive conference championship and a perfect record heading into the College Football Playoff. Natural speculation will turn to whether Day will receive any contract enhancements as a reward for that performance. Day’s 2019 salary of $4.5 million ranked 22nd nationally and seventh among Big Ten coaches, per the USA Today database of FBS head coach salaries. Two Big Ten coaches — Penn State’s James Franklin and Minnesota’s P.J. Fleck — both recently received contract extensions and raises after a combination of successful seasons and reported (or speculative) interest from other programs.
