COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley has plenty of positive ways to describe Pete Werner. He called the junior “fun to be around” citing of his love for the game of football and versatility as a linebacker. “He studies it, he asks good questions,” Hafley said. “He so locked in. He’s the type of guy you dream about coaching. It’s so important to him, and that makes it fun to be around him.” Hafley has seen that love for the game translates on the field this season. It’s why the Buckeyes have abandoned a position — that from this point forward shall not be named — to keep him on the field.
