Ohio State football’s Chase Young, Justin Fields finalists for Walter Camp Player of the Year


COLUMBUS, Ohio – As Ohio State football continues to push multiple candidates for Heisman Trophy consideration, two Buckeyes are finalists for another major award. Junior defensive end Chase Young and sophomore quarterback Justin Fields are two of five finalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award. The winner of the award, voted on by the 130 FBS coaches and sports information directors, will be announced on Dec. 12. LSU quarterback and former Ohio State player Joe Burrow, Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor and Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard are the other three finalists. Young leads the nation in sacks (16.5), sacks per game (16.5) and tackles for loss per game (2.0) and ranks second in forced fumbles (six).
