Why Ohio State football’s Damon Arnette keeps shrugging off the pain of a broken wrist


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State football cornerback Damon Arnette Jr. has not played a healthy snap this season, and may not play one again in his Buckeye career. The senior confirmed Wednesday the cast on his right arm resulted from a broken wrist suffered in preseason camp. He said he did not find out the injury was a break until the third week of the season. At that point he was already wearing protection on the sore wrist for precautionary reasons. “It’s getting better, though,” said Arnette, a second team All-Big Ten pick. “I’ll have two hands soon.” Arnette likened the injury — which necessitated surgery to insert a screw in the bone — to having a cavity in a molar and taking a drink of cold water. However, he said his absence from the second half of last Saturday’s win over Michigan was not related to the wrist injury.…
