Urban Meyer stepped down, Ryan Day stepped in and Ohio State kept its place atop the Big Ten East

Urban Meyer, who went 7-0 against Michigan and led the Buckeyes to five consecutive East Division titles (2014-18), was retired. In his place was Ryan Day, entering his first season as head coach. The Wolverines, who would face the Buckeyes in Ann Arbor, were the fashionable pick to win the East. As analyst Lee Corso is fond of saying: Not so fast.
