Ohio State football has three of four finalists for Chicago Tribune’s Silver Football Award


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Speculation continues as to how many Heisman Trophy candidates Ohio State football will send to the announcement ceremony in New York City. The Buckeyes are, however, well-represented in the Windy City. Ohio State players J.K. Dobbins, Justin Fields and Chase Young comprise three of the four finalists for the Chicago Tribune’s Silver Football Award, goes to the Big Ten’s best player as voted on by the coaches. Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor is the other candidate, meaning all four finalists will play in Saturday’s Big Ten championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium. According to the Tribune, the award predates the Heisman by 11 years.
