ANN ARBOR, MI – The results were not pretty for Michigan on the gridiron during Saturday’s rivalry clash with Ohio State, but the Wolverines achieved a more favorable outcome during its annual “Blood Battle.” The 38th annual blood drive that pits fans of the Wolverines against those of the Buckeyes saw Michigan fans collect 1,938 pints of blood, while OSU fans donated 1,525 pints. The win gave Michigan a win for the second consecutive year and three out of its last four competitions. The annual competition collects blood for the American Red Cross, with nearly 20 blood drives being hosted in Ann Arbor throughout November. Participants are encouraged to give blood, register with the bone marrow registry and sign-up as an organ donor.
