Ohio State coach Ryan Day believes Garrett Wilson can solve punt-drop issue: Buckeye Breakfast


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State football freshman Garrett Wilson spent Saturday’s game at Michigan imitating the renowned basketball halftime show Quick Change. Wilson and linebacker Baron Browning both wear No. 5. Browning joined the punt return unit as a blocker for the game, and two teammates wearing the same number on the field at the same time is illegal. Before and after every Michigan punt, Wilson had to outfitted with a No. 18 jersey. Regardless of uniform, Wilson’s unsteady hand on punt return duties returned. For the second time in three weeks, his muffed punt resulted directly in points for the opponent. Saturday’s infraction came late in the third quarter and the Buckeyes leading 42-16. Ohio State’s defense forced a three-and-out and held Michigan to a 45-yard Quinn Nordin field goal that was of little consequence to the final 56-27 score.
